Talk to a Counsellor by PhoneTelephone counselling and psychotherapy |
Home > How it works
Email info@phone-counselling.org.uk and we can discuss a mutually convenient time for an assessment by phone to see if telephone is the right path for you.
It is important to feel comfortable and safe working by phone with your therapist and an phone session will help to establish that. The first session involves an assessment of your situation and how best you can be helped. We also discuss and agree important issues such as a commitment to privacy and confidentiality. We can then agree on a regular call time, once a week, over a period of weeks or months depending on the arrangements you prefer.
This depends on what your individual needs. Some people find that after a few sessions they have some clarity and focus and are ready to end phone counselling. Other people value the ongoing support and relationship and the opportunity to make changes at deep level, and may continue to come for months, or even years. We will work together to establish how long is right for you and we will review your therapy on a regular basis. Sometimes it can be helpful for us to agree mutually in advance when the counselling will end so that we have time to bring things to a close.
Sessions are usually weekly and last for 50 minutes. By mutual agreement, we will arrange a day and time for you to call which then becomes your 'personal space' for counselling.
Sessions cost £45 for 50 minutes, with concessions available in special circumstances.
